Nonis Deli Atlanta Ga

The name Nonis Deli Atlanta GA is a complete understatement. When I heard Deli, I thought cold meats, antipastos and thick sandwiches served on top of an oversized loaf of bread. Not the case here.

On a road trip from Florida to Missouri I broke out the ZAGAT app on my ipad and found this diamond in the rough. So unassuming by appearance but I have never been let down by ZAGAT and I never judge a restaurant by it's cover. Some of the best meals I've ever had were straight out of a little tucked away run down shacks with silverware that doesn't match and chairs that look like they belong in your Grandmothers dining room.

Everyone raved about the Nonis Deli Atlanta GA's Bolognese sauce recipe and the meatballs so of course I ordered them both. Now just the fact that I was willing to order "pasta" in a restaurant says a lot. But like I said, I trusted ZAGAT.

As I sat there waiting for my Italian pasta recipe to arrive I watched the laid back crowd sipping there beers and cocktails. It looked like a group more likely found in the Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco then a crowd from the heart beat of the South in Atlanta, GA.

They brought my pasta. The smell alone was intoxicating but when I saw the texture of the bolognese sauce recipe I knew this was something special. This was not a Bolognese sauce with chunks of ground beef and doused in tomato sauce. This was an authentic, straight from the old country, Italian Bolognese and traditionally served spaghetti. You could smell and taste the blend of meats, pancetta, vegetables and the ever so slight hint of cream. I was in heaven.

I scrapped the bowl with my tasty bread and sipped my wine as I slopped the slathered bread into my mouth.
