This creamy sage chicken pasta is made with home grown fresh sage from my garden. Then carefully dried hand dried. The chicken came from our local farm that raises REAL free range, and cruelty free chickens and cream from a local farm that sells unpasteurized milk and beautiful baby bella mushrooms.
Hi I’m and as some of you know, I moved to Columbia, Missouri a year ago and this is one of the many wonderful benefits of living in the mid-west along with the amazing people. The down fall? SNOW. We just had 12 inches of snow, lost our power for two days and tonight, the first night back with power, I needed some serious comfort food after the drama.
HERE'S WHAT I CAME UP WITH!
I like to prepare all the ingredients first so they are ready to grab and use as I make my pasta recipe. Also because it makes a great picture!
Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the pasta. This dish, which is why I loved it so much, was fast and easy. Because when you need comfort food you need comfort and PRONTO!
I put the sage butter, the garlic and the mushrooms into a deep sauté pan and cooked until the mushrooms were tender (approximately 8-10 minutes).
Now is the perfect time to add your gemelli pasta to the boiling water. By the time your done with the rest of the steps it will be done.
Then I added the chicken bites and cook an additional 5 minutes, depending on how big you think a bite size piece is.
Add the dried sage and cream and simmer for one minute. This is a great time to drain your pasta, which should be perfectly al dente. Add the pasta directly to the pan, salt to taste, and stir until coated.
Your Creamy Sage Chicken Pasta is ready to eat. Two plates of this and I was in my comfort zone!
