Sclafani Crushed Tomatoes
by Elizabeth These plum tomatoes always deliver, they are deep red, sweet & contain few seeds.. Not every supermarket in my area Boston sells Sclafani; for instance, Shaw's Supermarket doesn't carry these but Stop & Shop does. Yes, I will make the extra trip for them. They are the only tomatoes I use for my eggplant parmigiano or chicken parm. If I'm making meatballs & sauce I will use another brand of plum tomatoes (only if I must) but these are my favorite & I specify them when I share a recipe. |
