Prosciutto Bone Stock

Making soup? Use a prosciutto bone stock! Just like our Italian forefathers and grandmothers did over a hundred years ago. I’m telling you right now, you’ll never use anything else again.

Prosciutto Stock Ingredients:

  1. 1 large prosciutto bone with all the meat removed
  2. 4-5 carrots watched and peeled
  3. 2-3 celery stalks cleaned
  4. 4 garlic cloves
  5. ½ of an onion, peeled
  6. herb sachet (parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme)
  7. Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

I had a chunk of pork cheek in the freezer that I plopped into my stock recipe as well and it was great but not totally necessary.

Put all the ingredients into a large pot of water and simmer for about 3 hours or more.

When I drained off the ingredients from the broth I knew I had something really special on my hands. I used this particular stock recipe for my Italian wedding soup and it was amazing. The perfect meal for a cold winters night.
