Marinara sauce, although the translation is sailors sauce or marine sauce, doesn't have any fish or seafood in it. It Italy a sauce of such versatility is just tomato sauce.

Simply made Marina sauce is crushed tomatoes. Use the best.

San Marazano canned tomatoes, the 13oz can
4 cloves of garlic sliced thin
one small chopped onion
3 leaves of basil sliced thinly
and olive oil.

Start by coating a saute pan with Olive Oil and heat on medium low. I like to slice the garlic rather then crush it but use a garlic slicer if you have one so the cloves are sliced super thin.

Once the cloves hit the oil saute quickly for about a minute then add a small finely chopped onion and stir until tender.

Now add the crushed San Marzano tomatoes and simmer for about 30 minutes. Now add some chopped fresh basil, a pinch of salt and pepper and you've just made yourself a terrific Marinara sauce.
