Chicken Alfredo With Basil

My Chicken Alfredo with Basil is tradition with a twist of flavor. A gourmet comfort food that's easy on effort and 5 star on the palette. I love to put creative twists to traditional Italian pasta recipes. It's fun and creative and it allows me to use the fresh ingredients available to me for the season.

Basil is an Italian staple when it comes to cooking. It's sweet flavor and powerful aroma adds a beautiful color to any of dish. Not just your Alfredo sauce recipes.

I begin with the basics. Follow the cooking instructions for your basic and traditional Alfredo sauce recipe.

I used a pound of chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces and sautéed them in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil and cooked them until they were tender.

Use a bunch of fresh basil and chop coarsely. Not too small because you want the strong presence of flavor and appearance.

I used a spiral bucatini pasta shape.

When your Alfredo sauce recipe is complete and your pasta is cooked al dente, drain and rinse in cold water so you can stop the cooking process. Once it's drained add directly to the pan of the sauce.

And there you have it. A beautiful and creative Italian pasta recipe, I've named Chicken Alfredo with Basil alla Volpi.
